How did this come to be?
Reason
Originally this was planned as research tool for not starting yet
another unplanned framework. Because the existing framework comparison
charts were extremely shallow, I wanted to create something more technical.
Goals
The comparison topics are easy to extend, and it's planned to go into
more detail.
Second, this site is a plattform for minimal and lesser known frameworks
in particular. The dozen of big OO frameworks don't need much more exposition,
and comparing among them doesn't reveal much new.
Help Improve It
If you don't like a denomination in the selections, don't be grumpy. Send
improval suggestions instead! See also doc
Fun Fact
This site is neither using a database, nor any of the mentioned
frameworks.

Of course the framework comparisons here cannot satisfy everyone. Legibility wasn't a goal. And simple charts cannot replace actual code investigations. But if you want to get another narrative, we recommend following sites:

- WACT (itself a framework) has quite likely the most encompassing list. Some venerable and often overlooked entries!

- phpframeworks.com has a nice blog besides the tickbox charts, lists various intersting and new (small) php frameworks

- Wikipedia has some surface itching about Web application frameworks (some misnomers like "security" instead of "permission" system).

This project is rather new. And the site pretty incomplete. The backend is also unpolished, but mostly works.
